True style icons, dahhhling.

What does it take to be a fashion icon nowadays? In a world where it is so difficult to be orginal and fresh who has the ability to make people see what they wear in a completely different light?

In my opinion, few people truely are style and fashion icons, the rest of us simply prance around in our wet look leggings going 'I AM STYLE, FASHION = MEEEEEEEE'.
Maybe i'm wrong:P

Anywho, over the past week I have been putting together a list of people who I consider to be my style icons, it's a strange collection and i'm sure you won't agree with me on every one...

First up: Susie Bubble

Yes, yes, I beleive that this blogger truely epitomises what it means to be in fashion, trends can pass us by but I feel if you have the ability to understand that fashion is not something that is static but is constantly changing, and you constantly change with it (by this I do not mean following trends but more letting your own personal style evolve).

She has for quite some time now been one of my pin ups, she has just got 'it', whatever 'it' is.
I love how she colour clashes, her ability to think of new creative ways of wearing the same peice of clothing over and over again, without looking that she tried.
Some of you amy think that she does look to try hard, but, I think she's brilliant and a total breath of fresh air away from all these wishy washy 'trendsetters' *cough agyness deyn*.

Cariine Roitfeld

Perhaps my all time girl crush, a little part of me dies every time I see what she wears.
I think this is probably one of my all time favorite looks of Carine, I mean when I first saw it i thought it was a skirt and then on closer inspections 'oh god that's a shirt, why didn't I think of that!'

And the eyebrows, of course. I have always wanted nice eyebrows, when I was a kid people teased me cause i hard dark thick eyebrows, so I plucked and plucked and plucked them into outer space, so I'm currently amid the painful process of growing them back to a more human looking shape...
She screams 'look at me, I AM FASHION and I'm having wayy more fun than you, dontcha think?'
She is the ultimate in European chic, big BOLD structured pieces but wears them with a smile, which is nice, she also doesn't seem to ever walk around with a face like a slapped arse, she is one of my style icons because her personality oozes a californian cool not often seen in Europe - we take ourselves way to seriously! I honestly think she could woop Anna Wintours ass in a fight. Even her daughter is a slight style icon, but you never see much of her around the place - more Julia please!

Erin Wasson

I know, I know predictable. And I use to think that too,but it's undeniable that she has a natural sense for what suits her body type and persona, even her apartment seems to be in sync with her chilled out life. She couldn't NOT go on my list, she has inspired so many fashion bloggers - most aptly Rumi of Fashion Toast.
She has a relaxed edgyness which is almost seductive. It really takes someone to look as good in a cast as in anything else. DO i care that she may of copied Bliss Lau's chains, yeah I was a bit miffed but she makes them look SO good no?
And is there any girl on this planet who would not want to be buddy buddy with Mr Wang? I think not, they're a brilliant combination and I was so excited when she helped style his collection, it was brilliant and one of my favorites of that season. She is a true champion of the homeless chic look - on a par with the Oslens'
But I will never forget this
"The people with the best style for me are the people that are the poorest. Like, when I go down to Venice beach and I see the homeless, like, I'm like, 'Oh my God, they're pulling out, like, crazy looks and they, like, pulled shit out of like garbage cans."

C'mon Erin, I love you but who says that?

Oh Kate, I adore you. Kate Lanphear is Us Elles Style director and general fashion godess. She has a boyish understated elegance and love for structured pieces which always makes her really interesting to look at. (And stalk on the satorialist). She's only recently been on my radar, and like Julia I would love too see more of her, unfortuantely magazines seem to think I want to know about LiLo and Samman Ronson.Oh how wrong they are! I love how she wears loads of fierce bracelets and cuffs but still manages to look lovely and etheral because of her blond hair. I don't care if she doesn't wear much colour! She knows whats suits her and sticks to it, that is a style icon.
